Ann Turkel still struggles to deal with the divorce she received from Richard Harris, even though they only got married for 8 years. Turkel, who was raised in Manhattan and is from a Jewish middle-class family, was a student at the Neighborhood Playhouse and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy when she was 16 years old. This include Sandy Meisner & Philip Burton. At the age of 16, Ann started singing together with her fellow students and formed an all-rock and roll ensemble. Also, she performed in a season of summer stock theater at the Berkshire Playhouse in Stockbridge, Massachusetts with plays such as The Pajama Game" and West Side Story. Ann was first noticed when she was performing at the Vogue Fashion Show with her group. Diana Vreeland, the editor in chief at Vogue Magazine, requested Ann shoot her first Vogue magazine cover within several days. Ann went on to become one of the best-known American models, working as a cover model in top magazines like Vogue Bazaar or Cosmopolitan. Ann began modeling in Europe and Japan in the fashion houses of Max Factor Revlon as well as Chanel after two consecutive years of successful modeling.
