Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name given to Winona Laura Hoowitz. She was who was born in Winona Minnesota. Her name was chosen by her parents in honor of the town where she grew as a child. Michel Horowitz was her father and Cynthia Palmer, his mother are both authors and editors. Ryder's father was from the Jewish family Ryder thinks she's Jewish. Ryder is the younger sister of Uria as well as half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder and her family moved to Mendocino, California at the age of seven. Ryder was only seven years old. In Mendocino County, they did not have electricity. Ryder would read extensively because of the lack of television. Ryder was 12 when she was enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. In the year she turned 15, Ryder landed her first acting job onscreen, playing Lucas. Ryder experienced bullying at high school. Ryder believed that if she became an actor, her bullying would be changed. Unfortunately, that did not take place. But she pushed on with her goals. Her breakthrough was in 1988 when she appeared in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued playing characters that made a splash in various films. In 1993, Ryder was nominated twice for Academy Awards.
