Reese Witherspoon seriously pursued her acting career after enrolment at Stanford University. Early successes were with movies like Pleasantville, Election and Legally Blonde. However, it was her performance as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde's big-budget smash that truly marked the beginning of her acting career. Witherspoon also won an Academy Award in the year 2005 for her role in Walk the Line. Water for Elephants: This Means War & Wild, in both films she received the Oscar nomination. Witherspoon also enjoyed success on television as a producer as well as co-star in David E. Kelley's popular award-winning TV show Big Little Lies. The actress put off her studies for one year in order to focus on her acting career. After that, at Stanford University she briefly studied English before returning to the job market. Her film credits include The Dictator, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and The Dictator. She is an accomplished painter and artist in along with being an accomplished actor.
